WELCOME TO BOURNEMOUTH GATEWAY CLUB
Social, leisure and learning community for adults with learning disabilities
Hello and welcome. Bournemouth Gateway Club is a social, leisure and learning community for adults with learning disabilities based in Winton, Bournemouth
No need to book a place, its very informal – the first session is free and you are welcome to pop in for a cuppa nd a look around at any time.
We would ask that everyone complete an emergency contact details form(and let us know if anything changes) We also welcome holiday only sessions as we know many people are at college etc.
Please sign up here for occasional newsletters and what’s on guides.
As well as our usual sessions we have a variety of special events and trips throughout the year. We run the Mencap Gateway Award (a tailored version of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards) and the Mencap Around the World Challenge which encourages members to be more active. All activities are included except special events and trips. We are often lucky enough to have the support of local organisations towards costs or they are subsidised from club funds, in order to keep costs to a minimum.
Please note that although we have staff on site and will deal with any issues, we do not provide personal or one to one suport. If you need additional support, please bring someone with you. There is no charge for carers and they are welcome to free drinks and can buy lunch at £2.50 if they wish.
Any queries please let me know and if there’s anyone you know who might be interested, we would appreciate you passing on the information.
