Volunteer

Volunteering at Bournemouth Gateway Club can be a very valuable and rewarding experience. We are very fortunate to receive support from a number of fantastic volunteers, but we are always looking for more.

There are a range of volunteering roles available:

  • Volunteer Buddy/Befriender – Enable someone with a learning disability to engage more in their local community by volunteering together or accessing a community activity. Placements are usually for two hours, once a week.
  • Activities Volunteer – Support our social or personal development activities such as the  Social Club or Gateway Award. This role involves helping to set up and deliver activities, and supporting people with a learning disability to participate.
  • Fundraising/Events Volunteer – Help out at events now and then, such as fete days, supermarket collections and Bournemouth Mencap events. You can do as little or as much as you like. We will keep you on our database and contact you when events are coming up. You can decide if you are able to spare a few hours!
